Accelerated Resolution Therapy in Lake County, Illinois
Why ART Can Save You Time and Money
Starting therapy is a big investment — not just emotionally, but financially too. One of the reasons I offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is because it helps people feel better faster and often with fewer sessions.
How ART Works Differently
Traditional weekly therapy is valuable, but progress can take months or years. With ART, we’re often able to resolve the root of an issue in just a handful of sessions. Sometimes even one 4-hour intensive can create meaningful change.
A Bigger Upfront Investment = Long-Term Savings
I’m upfront that an ART intensive carries a higher single-session cost. But here’s the difference:
A 4-hour ART intensive can do the work of weeks or months of weekly therapy.
That means fewer appointments, less disruption to your schedule, and lower overall cost.
Instead of paying for 8–12 weeks of therapy, you’re putting resources into a shorter, more focused process.
Why It Makes Financial Sense
Fewer visits overall → lower long-term cost
Less disruption → fewer hours away from work, school, or family
Faster relief → more freedom to live without symptoms dragging you down
Is talk therapy not working for you?
Do you ever wonder why you’ve gone through one (or more) therapists but don’t feel any better? You don’t feel like talking about your trauma is helping you come to terms with it? Perhaps you feel numb or retraumatized recounting your history. Accelerated Resolution Therapy could be a good fit for you!
You’re in the right place!
FAQs about Accelerated Resolution Therapy
-
A.R.T stands for Accelerated Resolution Therapy. It is an evidence based treatment used to treat trauma and other conditions, using eye movements. It is like EMDR, but more directive and, in my experience, has faster results for some traumas. I have seen it be highly effective with grief and some cases of trauma.
-
Absolutely! A.R.T. has been proven effective both in-person and online. This was tested during the pandemic, when practitioners had no choice but to adapt A.R.T. to meet the needs to their clients.
-
No. The therapist uses bilateral stimulation to help you reprocess trauma. Your attention is divided between the events you are processing and your body sensations.
-
Anyone who has a past trauma or upset that they have not recovered from.

I don’t share identifying details, but here are some of the things clients have expressed after ART:
“I can’t believe how much lighter I feel. I’d been carrying that weight for years, and it finally lifted in just a few hours.”
“I thought I’d have to live with those images forever. They don’t control me anymore.”
“It’s like I can finally breathe again.”
My anxiety is so much better!
